Family-centered care for a patient with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome in the intensive care unit: A case report

Background: Patients with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) require complex intensive care, and family involvement plays an essential role in achieving patient recovery. Family-centered care the unit (ICU) benefits patients, families, healthcare workers. Objective: This case study aimed to evaluate family-centered approach for patients MODS ICU. Case: A 46-year-old male presented various problems, including risk of respiratory infections, impaired renal perfusion, pressure sores. An interview patient’s revealed that they felt guilty, worried, lacked sufficient information about condition. The interventions provided included giving them condition, plans, evaluation results after procedures, providing spiritual guidance, offering support, involving required procedures. Conclusion: After had been admitted two days, there was improvement outcomes. Simultaneously, experienced a sense calmness increased satisfaction health services. To facilitate implementation ICU, it is crucial further develop hospital policies. Moreover, successful necessitates support cooperation medical staff.
